This last weekend with my family, I went wayyyy up north in the UP, where I’m originally from, to stay in Copper Harbor. This is one of the farthermost points in the UP, on a pier extending out into the both imposing and beautiful Lake Superior.

We stayed at the Keeweenaw Mountain Lodge @keweenawmtnlodge, a historic and cozy set of cabins that once a month hosts a “Lights Out” event where all extra lights around the area turn off to give way to a clearer view of the night sky…. And wow did the stars deliver!
